Spicy Shrimp and Sausage Skillet

This Spicy Shrimp and Sausage Skillet is a bold and flavorful one-pan dish that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb smoked sausage or andouille sausage sliced into rounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 bell pepper diced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice optional

Instructions
 

  • Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet. Brown the sausage for 3-4 minutes and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add remaining oil, and sauté onion, bell pepper, and garlic for 3-4 minutes.
  • Season shrimp with paprika, cayenne, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Add to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Return the sausage to the skillet and mix everything together. Cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  • Garnish with parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice. Serve hot.
