Epic Easter Egg Smash Cake

This stunning dessert isn’t just a treat; it’s an interactive experience. A giant chocolate egg filled with sweet surprises sits atop a moist and flavorful cake, waiting to be cracked open!

Ingredients
  

For the Cake:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 ¾ cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk

For the Chocolate Egg Shell:

  • 200 g dark milk, or white chocolate (melted)

For Decoration & Filling:

  • 1 ½ cups buttercream frosting
  • 1 cup assorted Easter candies
  • Sprinkles & edible glitter optional

Instructions
 

Make the Cake:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  • Beat butter and sugar until fluffy, then add eggs one at a time.
  • Mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture.
  • Pour batter into the pan and bake for 35–40 minutes. Cool completely.

Create the Chocolate Egg Shell:

  • Melt chocolate and pour into a silicone egg mold. Spread evenly.
  • Chill until solid and carefully remove from the mold.

Assemble the Smash Cake:

  • Frost the cake with buttercream.
  • Fill the chocolate egg with Easter candies and place it on top of the cake.
  • Seal with melted chocolate or frosting.
