Epic Easter Egg Smash Cake
This stunning dessert isn’t just a treat; it’s an interactive experience. A giant chocolate egg filled with sweet surprises sits atop a moist and flavorful cake, waiting to be cracked open!
For the Cake:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 ¾ cups sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
For the Chocolate Egg Shell:
- 200 g dark milk, or white chocolate (melted)
For Decoration & Filling:
- 1 ½ cups buttercream frosting
- 1 cup assorted Easter candies
- Sprinkles & edible glitter optional
Make the Cake:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
Beat butter and sugar until fluffy, then add eggs one at a time.
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture.
Pour batter into the pan and bake for 35–40 minutes. Cool completely.
Create the Chocolate Egg Shell:
Assemble the Smash Cake:
Frost the cake with buttercream.
Fill the chocolate egg with Easter candies and place it on top of the cake.
Seal with melted chocolate or frosting.
