Dutch Oven Blueberry Cobbler

This Dutch Oven Blueberry Cobbler is the perfect way to enjoy a warm, comforting dessert whether you're cooking outdoors or in the kitchen.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups fresh blueberries or frozen
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar for the topping
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream optional

Method
 

  1. Mix blueberries, 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and vanilla extract. Set aside.
  2. Whisk flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in milk and vanilla.
  3. Grease Dutch oven. Pour blueberry mixture inside, then drop spoonfuls of the dough over it.
  4. Campfire: Place Dutch oven over fire, cover, and bake for 30-35 minutes. Oven: Preheat to 375°F and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  5. Brush with heavy cream, serve warm, and enjoy!
