Puking Pumpkin Nachos: An Ultimate Halloween Party Snack

A hilarious and spooky Halloween snack that doubles as a party centerpiece! Crispy tortilla chips layered with melted cheese, salsa, sour cream, and topped with guacamole “puking” from a carved pumpkin. Fun, gross-looking, but totally delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 medium pumpkin for carving
  • 1 large bag tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • 1 cup guacamole homemade or store-bought
  • 1 cup salsa
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • Optional toppings: jalapeños diced tomatoes, black olives, green onions, seasoned ground beef or chicken

Method

  1. Carve a pumpkin with triangle eyes and a wide, jagged open mouth. Clean the inside completely.
  2. Spread tortilla chips evenly on a large baking sheet.
  3. Top with shredded cheese and optional toppings (except guac, salsa, and sour cream).
  4. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes, until cheese is melted.
  5. Remove from oven and drizzle with salsa and sour cream.
  6. Place the carved pumpkin at the top of the tray. Spoon guacamole so it spills from the pumpkin’s mouth onto the nachos.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy the laughs!
