Pasta With Peas

A simple, comforting pasta dish made with tender peas and everyday ingredients. Light, flavorful, and perfect for quick homemade meals.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz pasta of choice
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese optional
  • Reserved pasta water as needed

Method
 

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta according to package instructions.
  2. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
  3. In a large pan, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat.
  4. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the frozen peas and cook for 2–3 minutes until tender.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the pan and toss to combine.
  7. Pour in a little reserved pasta water if the pasta seems dry.
  8. Remove from heat, add Parmesan if using, and season with salt and pepper.
  9. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Add lemon zest, herbs, or red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
  • This recipe works well with whole wheat or gluten-free pasta.
