Tender, golden-seared pork bites are coated in a rich honey garlic sauce and served over creamy, cheesy penne pasta. This comforting meal combines sweet, savory, and cheesy flavors in every bite, making it an easy family favorite that's perfect for both weeknight dinners and cozy weekends.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork tenderloin cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish

Method

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne until al dente. Reserve ¼ cup of pasta water, then drain.
  2. Season the pork with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the pork for 5–7 minutes until browned and cooked through. Transfer to a plate.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds.
  6. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Return the pork to the skillet and toss until evenly coated with the sauce.
  8. In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  9. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  10. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.
  11. Stir in the cheddar and Parmesan until melted into a creamy sauce.
  12. Toss the cooked penne with the cheese sauce. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if needed for a creamier consistency.
  13. Spoon the cheesy penne onto serving plates and top with the honey garlic pork bites.
  14. Garnish with parsley or green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently with a splash of milk to keep the sauce creamy.
  • Add steamed broccoli, spinach, or mushrooms for extra vegetables.
  • Swap cheddar for Monterey Jack, Gouda, or mozzarella for a different cheesy flavor.
  • Leftover pork also makes a delicious filling for wraps or rice bowls.
