Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs

These hot dogs are a perfect blend of Flaky crescent dough, classic hot dogs, and melty cheese (along with some carefully applied mustard eyes). So you can imagine the level of fun and spookiness.

Ingredients

  • 8 Oscar Mayer Classic Wieners Hot Dogs or vegan hot dogs of your choice
  • 1 can 8 oz / 226g crescent dough (e.g., Pillsbury Crescent Dough)
  • 4 slices American cheese halved (optional, for melty filling)
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise for DIY eyes – optional
  • 1 teaspoon black sesame seeds for pupils in DIY eyes
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard for eyes and dipping
  • 2-3 tablespoons ketchup for dipping or spooky “blood” effect

Method

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    Prepare the crescent dough.
    1. Unroll the dough and separate it into 4 large rectangles (press seams to seal if needed). Cut each into thin strips, about 1 cm wide.
    Assemble the mummy dogs.
    1. Pat hot dogs dry. Place a half slice of cheese on each (optional), then wrap with dough strips, crisscrossing to resemble mummy bandages. Leave a small gap at the top for eyes.
    Bake.
    1. Arrange on the baking sheet and bake for 13–17 minutes, or until golden brown and the dough is cooked through.
    Make the eyes.
    1. Let cool slightly. Then add:
    2. Option 1: Candy eyes
    3. Option 2: Dabs of mayonnaise or mustard + black sesame seeds for pupils
    Serve.
    1. Enjoy warm with mustard and ketchup for dipping. Great for Halloween parties or spooky movie nights!
