In a small bowl, combine the crushed buttery crackers with the melted butter until the crumbs are evenly coated.
Sprinkle the buttery cracker mixture evenly over the casserole.
Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the filling is hot and bubbling around the edges and the topping is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
