Campfire Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches
These Campfire Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches are a delicious and hearty take on the classic Philly cheesesteak, made even better by the smoky flavor of campfire cooking.
- 1 lb ribeye or flank steak thinly sliced
- 1 onion thinly sliced
- 1 bell pepper thinly sliced
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce
- Aluminum foil
Heat olive oil and butter in a cast-iron skillet over the campfire.
Sauté onions and bell peppers until softened, then add the sliced beef and cook until browned.
Toast hoagie rolls on the grill or campfire until golden.
Assemble the sandwiches with the beef mixture, top with cheese, and wrap in foil.
Melt the cheese by heating the foil-wrapped sandwiches for 2-3 minutes over the grill or campfire.
Serve immediately.
