BBQ Meatballs

These juicy BBQ meatballs are coated in a rich, sticky sauce that’s perfectly sweet and smoky. Easy to make and incredibly flavorful, they’re perfect for both appetizers and hearty meals.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, milk, salt, and pepper.
  3. Shape into small meatballs and place on the tray.
  4. Bake for 15–18 minutes until cooked through.
  5. In a pan, combine BBQ sauce, honey, and soy sauce. Simmer for 3–5 minutes.
  6. Add baked meatballs to the sauce and gently toss to coat.
  7. Cook for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats well.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze cooked meatballs (without sauce) for up to 2 months.
  • Add a splash of apple cider vinegar for extra tang if desired.
  • Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or as a party appetizer with toothpicks.
