BBQ Jackfruit Sliders (Vegan)

These BBQ Jackfruit Sliders are the perfect plant-based alternative to pulled pork, offering a smoky, tangy, and slightly sweet flavor with a tender, meaty texture.

Ingredients
  

For the Jackfruit BBQ Filling:

  • 2 14-oz cans young green jackfruit
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ small onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce vegan
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ cup vegetable broth

For Serving:

  • 6 small slider buns
  • 1 cup vegan coleslaw
  • ½ cup pickles or pickled onions
  • ½ avocado sliced (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Shred the Jackfruit: Drain, rinse, and shred into strands.
  • Sauté Aromatics: Cook onion in olive oil, add garlic, and stir in jackfruit with spices.
  • Simmer: Add BBQ sauce and broth, cook for 15 minutes until tender.
  • Assemble Sliders: Toast buns, layer with BBQ jackfruit, coleslaw, and pickles.
