BBQ Jackfruit Sliders (Vegan)
These BBQ Jackfruit Sliders are the perfect plant-based alternative to pulled pork, offering a smoky, tangy, and slightly sweet flavor with a tender, meaty texture.
For the Jackfruit BBQ Filling:
- 2 14-oz cans young green jackfruit
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ small onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup BBQ sauce vegan
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp cumin
- ½ tsp chili powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ cup vegetable broth
For Serving:
- 6 small slider buns
- 1 cup vegan coleslaw
- ½ cup pickles or pickled onions
- ½ avocado sliced (optional)
Shred the Jackfruit: Drain, rinse, and shred into strands.
Sauté Aromatics: Cook onion in olive oil, add garlic, and stir in jackfruit with spices.
Simmer: Add BBQ sauce and broth, cook for 15 minutes until tender.
