6-Ingredient Cheesy Sausage Pasta Bake

This comforting pasta bake combines hearty sausage, tender pasta, rich tomato sauce, and gooey melted cheese into one satisfying meal. With only six simple ingredients, it's an easy dinner that's perfect for busy weeknights or casual family gatherings.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 ounces penne or rigatoni pasta
  • 1 pound Italian sausage casings removed if needed
  • 24 ounces marinara or pasta sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Drain well.
  3. Meanwhile, brown the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles. Drain any excess grease.
  4. Stir the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning into the cooked sausage.
  5. Add the cooked pasta and half of the mozzarella cheese. Stir until evenly combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the top, followed by the Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
  9. Let the casserole rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze individual portions for up to 3 months.
  • Add mushrooms, spinach, bell peppers, or onions for extra vegetables.
  • Try cheddar, provolone, or Monterey Jack for a different cheese blend.
