15-Minute Skillet Beef & Cheese Dinner with Garlic and Herbs

This quick one-pan dinner combines flavorful ground beef, garlic, herbs, and plenty of melted cheese for an easy meal that's ready in just 15 minutes. It's hearty, family-friendly, and perfect for busy evenings when you want something comforting without spending hours in the kitchen.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil optional if using very lean beef
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley optional

Method
 

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil if needed.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook for 5–6 minutes, breaking it into small crumbles until browned.
  3. Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic, onion powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella evenly over the beef.
  7. Cover the skillet for 1–2 minutes until the cheese is fully melted.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped parsley if using and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently in a skillet or microwave until warmed through.
  • Add diced onions, mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers for extra vegetables.
  • Swap cheddar for pepper jack if you enjoy a little heat.
  • Serve over rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, or with toasted bread for a more filling meal.
